For a long time we have been stuck in the same regime under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, but now thanks to the great Atatürk we are able to catch up with the modern world and become of an open state. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's main goal was to turn Turkey away from the old Ottoman Empire practices, and to make Turkey more ‘western’, which to him it meant becoming more developed and advanced like most western countries at the time. He made a series of political, economic, legal, and social changes in order to turn the new state of turkey into a more up to date, modernized state. So in that case you could say that the state Ataturk was building was more liberal rather than conservative, since he did turn away from old practice of the Ottoman Empire which where islamic therefore more conservative. Since the the Ottoman Empire was more conservative it meant that, women used to have less rights to power, education, legal and political rights, political positions, and access to work, but under Atatürk's rule there was more freedom, which gave women these rights since his goal was to modernize Turkey, changing the status of women. Thanks to him the women in my family and I are able to work and help provide for our families side by side with the men of my family. Our great leader states this quote that has help inspire the people of Turkey, "Everything we see in the world is the creative work of women." - Mustafa Kemal Atatürk He stressed to his people and others that, he was convinced that exercising political and social rights by women is necessary for mankind's happiness and pride. He also stated that if us turkish women are able to work with other women of the world then we will be able to work towards world peace a security. He truly does have great faith in us women, and I really want to thank him for launching reforms to give the women of Turkey equal rights and opportunities.
